The Jiangsu Provincial New Era Stage Art Excellent Drama Tour and Grassroots Art Troupe Excellent Drama Exhibition premiered on Monday afternoon at the Jiangsu Grand Theater. The event was organized by the Jiangsu Provincial Department of Culture and Tourism.
Among the leaders present at the ceremony were Zhang Aijun, member of the Standing Committee of the Provincial Party Committee and head of the Publicity Department of the Provincial Party Committee, Xu Ying, vice governor of the provincial government, and Yao Xiaodong, vice chairman of the CPPCC Provincial Committee. They watched the Kunqu performance Qu Qiubai with nearly 1000 audience.
The tour performance brought together high-quality plays, including Huai Opera Small Town, which won the 15th and 16th National Wenhua Awards respectively, Jiangsu Opera "Soul of the National Tripod", Kun Opera "Qu Qiubai", farce "Chen Huansheng"s Quest for Food", and drama "Yuhuatai".
20 tour plays and 8 exhibition plays sing praises of exemplary deeds, heroes, and ordinary workers, and eulogize the founding mission of the CPC to seek happiness for the Chinese people and rejuvenation for the Chinese nation.
This tour show will be staged in 13 prefecture-level cities across the province over two months until the end of July.
