Xu Kunlin, governor of Jiangsu, called for Suzhou to rev up efforts for further opening up so as to create favorable conditions for innovative and high quality development. He made the remarks when going on an inspection tour in Suzhou on Monday and Tuesday.

During his visit to Maxin Aviation Technology and Green Harmonic Drive Technology, Xu Kunlin asked Suzhou"s enterprises to comply with the industry development trend, focus on the commanding heights of industry competition, strengthen research and development, design, production and application, so as to integrate more resources in the international and domestic supply chain systems, occupy a larger market, and strive to become the source of independent innovation and the main force of strong chain supplement.

During the inspection of the Marine Information Technology and Equipment Innovation Center of Jiangsu Province, Xu Kunlin asked local enterprises to accelerate the construction of an innovation consortium that is spearheaded by leading enterprises, supported by colleges and universities, and coordinated by various innovation entities, deepen the integration of the innovation chain industry chain, strengthen the coordinated research, promotion and application of common key technologies, cutting-edge leading technologies, and modern engineering technologies so as to better serve the province"s economic and social development amid the province’s major strategic tasks of becoming a maritime powerhouse.

During the inspection of Kunshan Guoli Electronic Technology Co., Ltd., Xu Kunlin hoped that the enterprise would actively undertake national key scientific research projects and win stronger competitive initiative and market bargaining power with greater technological voice.

During the visit to Zhumi Innovative Technology and Anjie Technology, the governor made detailed inquiry into the technology research and development, application scenarios and market demand, and required further efforts to strengthen scientific and technological innovation, increase the cultivation of scientific and technological enterprises, strengthen high-tech enterprise clusters in both quantity and quality so as accelerate the convergence of technological innovation in cutting-edge fields of world science, emerging industries, and global technological innovation elements.

During his visit to Sheffler Taicang New Base and Panasonic New Energy Suzhou Company, Xu Kunlin hoped that the two foreign-funded enterprises would further give play to Suzhou"s advantages of good industrial foundation, excellent business environment and high degree of openness, so as to promote mutual benefit and win-win results and achieve greater development through opening up and cooperation.

Xu Kunlin asked Suzhou to unswervingly promote high-level opening up, improve its ability to gather and allocate high-quality resources, better participate in global economic cooperation and competition, and constantly create new advantages in open economy.
