The 2023 China Coffee Industry Conference was held in Kunshan on Sunday with a view to comprehensively enhancing the coffee brand in Kunshan and promoting the high-quality development of China"s coffee industry.

The Asia Pacific Coffee Green Bean Distribution Center was officially launched in Kunshan on the sidelines of the conference.

The first professional and standardized coffee trading and distribution center in China has a total investment of approximately 380 million yuan, which can store 50 thousand tons of coffee beans and achieve real-time monitoring of internal temperature, humidity, and other parameters in the warehouse around the clock.

The International Coffee Bean Trade Week held concurrently attracted over 300 companies and brands from 15 countries and regions.

“We can directly achieve transactions in US dollars and RMB with domestic and foreign enterprises before directly distributing products to domestic and foreign enterprises in the Asia Pacific region, which is of great strategic significance for the growth of the coffee industry in Kunshan”, Chen Ran, General Manager of Kunshan Yiguo International Trade Co., Ltd., said.

“The coffee market in China has enormous demand potential. We hope to have more customers in China and continuously promote our coffee beans to the world through Kunshan”, Bemenet, Business and Market Development Manager, Buna Coffee Trading Company, Ethiopia, said.

In recent years, Kunshan Development Zone has seized the opportunities of national strategies such as the "the Belt and Road", the "Yangtze River Delta Integration", and the "Free Trade Zone" to create a new coffee industry chain so as to better coordinate the use of international and domestic markets and resources, and cultivate and enhance new advantages in international competition.

Statistics from Kunshan Customs show that Kunshan imported 346 million yuan of raw coffee beans in 2022, up 44.5% year on year. In the first quarter of this year, Kunshan recorded an import volume of 28.57 million yuan of coffee beans, a year-on-year increase of 318.5%. At present, Kunshan has accounted for nearly 60% of the country"s roasted raw beans.

“The gathering of all elements of the Kunshan industrial chain provides a good development environment for everyone. We want to promote Chinese coffee brand on the world stage”, Hou Hongmei, Executive Vice President and Secretary General of Coffee and Beverage Professional Committee of China Foods Limited Industry Association, said.
