The Second China Newspaper Innovation and Development Conference was held in Nanjing on Tuesday. Zhang Jianchun, Deputy Minister of the Publicity Department of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China, delivered a keynote speech. Zhang Aijun, member of the Standing Committee of the Provincial Party Committee and Director of the Publicity Department of the Provincial Party Committee, also spoke at the conference.

Zhang Jianchun stressed that the newspaper industry must thoroughly study and implement the Xi Jinping Thought on Socialism with Chinese characteristics for a new era and the spirit of the 20th CPC National Congress, earnestly shoulder the new cultural mission in the new era, and write a new chapter of high-quality development of the newspaper industry in the new era with a new atmosphere.

He demanded that the newspaper industry adhere to the development concept of putting the people at the center, regard cultural confidence and self-improvement as a strong driving force and inexhaustible source for career development, and promote the construction of modern Chinese civilization and a socialist cultural power.

He asked the newspaper industry to adhere to and strengthen the overall leadership of the Party, combine the study and implementation of education campaign on study and implementation of Xi Jinping Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era, and effectively transform the learning results into a vivid practice to promote the high-quality development of the newspaper industry.

Zhang Aijun requested that Jiangsu deeply implement General Secretary Xi Jinping"s important statement on the Party"s news and public opinion work, adhere to enhancing the dissemination power of omni-media through integrated innovation, enhancing value guidance through content innovation, enhancing the influence of newspaper media through mechanism innovation, and enhancing public opinion credibility through management innovation.

Zhang Aijun said that Jiangsu will adhere to the correct direction, learn from advanced experience, further deepen reform and innovation, continuously stimulate the vitality of the newspaper industry"s innovative development, accelerate the construction of an omni-media communication system, and make new contributions to better serve the overall work of the Party and the country.

120 innovative cases of in-depth integration and development of China"s newspaper industry were released during the conference.
