The city of Suzhou in East China’s Jiangsu province has spared no effort to create jobs and internships for college graduates.
As night fell, the talent night market began to liven up on the square of Daximen Commercial Street in Kunshan. Employers set up stalls to offer job vacancies for talents, and the innovative recruitment methods have attracted many young people.
“The temperature is relatively high during the day,so night markets are a more comfortable state. Holding job fairs in downtown areas is very innovative because you can meet different people”, ajob seeker, said.

Since the beginning of summer, Suzhou has held more than ten night market job fairs to provide over 5000 job vacancies for young talents. The human resources and social security department has also established university talent stations on campus and collaborated with universities and employers to strengthen employment guidance for graduates.
“We have learned about some of the preferences and characteristics of the new generationespecially those born in the 2000s.We want to be more creative and create an atmosphere in which they can easily accept popular forms of communication,allowing them to have a more relaxed way to seek employment”, Li Jian, Director of Suzhou Talent Service Center, said.
Suzhou has also launched various policies targeting different employment groups, ranging from social security subsidies to entrepreneurship awards and subsidies, to help young people better seek employment and start entrepreneurship.
Sun Wenqian graduated from Soochow University last month and joined this internet company through campus recruitment. This year, the company has recruited a total of 12 new graduates.
Small and micro enterprises recognized according to relevant policies can enjoy the "social security subsidy for college graduates", which means that the social security portion paid by the enterprise is exempted for two consecutive years.
“With this policy alone,we have saved approximately 56 million yuan in employment costs in the past three yearsas we are still in the early stages of development and entrepreneurship.Therefore, in terms of employment costssocial security subsidies are very helpful to us”, Wu Yongming, Human Resources Director of Suzhou Ruiyun Information Technology Co., Ltd., said.
The Suzhou Human Resources and Social Security Department has also introduced 15 entrepreneurship support policies, including one-time entrepreneurship subsidies, entrepreneurship social security subsidies, and job search and entrepreneurship subsidies, to effectively support innovation and entrepreneurship of college graduates, providing basic public employment services such as employment recruitment, career guidance, skill training, and labor rights protection.
“We focus on key groups such as unemployed college graduates and those facing employment difficultiesand offer tailored and targeted assistance such as "one person, one policy" to help broaden employment channels through skill enhancement”, Yu Xiaofeng, Director of Suzhou Labor and Employment Management Service Center, said.
