The county level city of Zhangjiagang has spared no effort to promote the joint cultivation of applied technology talents by schools, government, and enterprises, according to a conference held on Saturday.

The Zhangjiagang School-Government-Enterprise Alliance for Applied Technology Talent Training was inaugurated by signing agreements with alliances in ten fields that include metallurgical new materials, intelligent equipment, high-end textiles, and characteristic semiconductors.

The alliance has targeted more than 60 applied technology talent training institutions both inside and outside the province by selecting and matching target enterprises, sorting and summarizing the job requirements of 10155 applied technology talents from 128 enterprises so as to achieve seamless integration between supply and demand.

The job requirements for applied technology talents were also released, and a number of bases were awarded licenses for the cultivation of skilled talents and applied talents.

“We have established the School-Government-Enterprise Alliance for the Training of Applied Technology Talents, which has accurately linked talent resources and comprehensively expanded the "circle of friends" between schools and enterprises. This has provided us with in-depth communication between schools and enterprises, as well as opportunities for long-term layout and building deep cooperative relationships”, said Li Binglong, Deputy Secretary and Deputy Mayor of Zhangjiagang Municipal Party Committee.

In recent years, Zhangjiagang has targeted high-quality employment and development needs by focusing on the "4+4" key industrial chain, continuously strengthening the introduction of skilled talents, and pioneering in the country the construction of the "Skilled Zhangjiagang" enterprise development index system.

As of now, Zhangjiagang has recorded a total of 313200 skilled talents and 119000 highly skilled talents, providing important talent support for high-quality economic and social development.

“In the next step, Zhangjiagang will continue to promote the integration of industry and urban development, innovate the mechanism of joint training of skilled talents and collaborative development between schools, governments, and enterprises, promote the targeted integration of talent supply and demand, and provide strong talent support for Zhangjiagang to be a county-level leading area of promoting the Chinese style modernization”, said Li Binglong, Deputy Secretary and Deputy Mayor of Zhangjiagang Municipal Party Committee.
