The city of Nanjing has ushered in the summer of culture and museum for children to spend the summer vacation in a colorful and meaningful way, according to the opening ceremony of the 21st Nanjing "Summer of Culture and Museum" series activities launched at the Chinese Imperial Examination Museum on Tuesday.
During the summer vacation, Nanjing"s "Summer of Culture and Museum" will launch 103 theme exhibitions and social education activities, including red theme exhibitions.The CPC delegation"s Meiyuan New Village Memorial Hall will launch a special exhibition of "the power of Lei Feng"s spirit to nourish the soul -- commemorating the 60th anniversary of Mao Zedong and other older revolutionaries "inscription for Lei Feng". The Yangtze River Victory Memorial Hall will launch a special exhibition of "great spirit casts a great era -- the great spirit of the CPC"s founding".Nanjing Municipal Museum will hold a special exhibition of "Hongwu Era -- Timeline of Nanjing Cultural Heritage of Ming Dynasty". The Museum of the Ming Xiaoling will launch the "Witnessing Twenty Years -- the World Heritage Ming Xiaoling Cultural Relics Protection Achievement Exhibition".
The museums also tailor rich and colorful cultural and museum experience courses for visitors of different ages. More than ten foreign students from Southeast University are learning to make thread-bound books in ancient China under the guidance of the staff of the Chinese Imperial Examination Museum.
“I want to take this book home. Whenever I see it,it will remind me of China and Nanjing”, Ma Weili, Afghan Student from Southeast University, said.

Since 2003, Nanjing has launched the "Summer of Culture and Museum" series of activities, with 70 museums hosting nearly 2000 themed exhibitions and events, attracting hundreds of thousands of teenagers and students to visit, experience, and fall in love with museums.
