Jiangsu maintained a leading position in the country in the construction of digital infrastructure in the first half of this year by vigorously developing gigabit broadband and gigabit fiber, the Provincial Communications Administration said recently.
As of the end of June, Jiangsu recorded a total of 216000 5G base stations, ranking second in the country. The province also recorded over 45 million online users of 5G and 12.639 million gigabit broadband users, ranking first in the country. In the meantime, Jiangsu has recorded over 100 million internet broadband access ports, including over 86 million fiber optic access ports, ranking second in the country.
In the first half of the year, Jiangsu continued to expand the user base of 5G networks, gigabit optical networks, and the Internet of Things with the number of IoT end users increasing to 260 million, ranking second in the country. In the meantime, Jiangsu continued to consolidate the foundation of the Internet of Things.
Jiangsu has steadily improved its information and communication infrastructure capabilities, and integrated applications are also showing a thriving development trend. By the end of June, Jiangsu had recorded 7576 signed 5G application projects for basic telecommunications enterprises, with 1953 new projects added this year.
