Xu Kunlin, governor of Jiangsu, called for further efforts to stabilize import and export by studying and implementing the spirit of General Secretary Xi Jinping"s important speech and carrying out the decisions and arrangements of the Party Central Committee and the State Council so as to promote the stability of and give full play to foreign trade. He made the remarks when presiding over a forum for foreign trade enterprises on Tuesday.

Among the speakers at the forum were senior executives of Mingshuo Computer, Kevos, Jiangsu Guotai, SK Hynix Semiconductor, Nanjing Quanfeng Technology, Zhongtian Technology, Beidian EST, Jiangsu Zhongheng and some other enterprises, as well as the leaders of relevant departments in some prefecture-level cities.

Xu Kunlin pointed out that promoting the scale and structure of foreign trade plays an important supporting role in stabilizing economic growth and employment, building a new development paradigm, and promoting high-quality development.

He hoped that foreign trade enterprises would further strengthen their confidence in development, bravely overcome difficulties, actively explore diversified markets, find ways to stabilize exports to developed economies, vigorously explore the "the Belt and Road" market and regional markets such as ASEAN, innovate market expansion methods, and constantly open up new space for development.

The governor required foreign trade enterprises to increase innovation investment in research and development, models, and management, accelerate the cultivation of comprehensive competitiveness centered on technology, standards, brands, quality, and services, strengthen cooperation with upstream and downstream enterprises in the industrial chain, continuously improve the resilience and safety level of the industrial chain supply chain, and firmly grasp the initiative of development in their own hands.

Xu Kunlin stressed that efforts must be made to actively explore effective ways to strengthen and improve the work of stabilizing foreign trade under the new situation, establish a clear orientation for service enterprises, and create a better environment for foreign trade development.

The governor requested that all efforts be made to implement the policies and measures of the central and provincial governments on stabilizing the economy and foreign trade, study targeted implementation measures, increase precise guidance and assistance for "one industry, one policy" and "one enterprise, one policy", improve the level of cross-border trade facilitation, promote the province"s special action to promote cross-border trade facilitation in 2023, and promote reform and innovation in trade regulatory services.
