East China’s Jiangsu province will create pre-job 100 thousand internships for college graduates by the end of this year, according to a provincial internship promotion meeting held in Nantong on Wednesday.
Pre-job internship plays an important role in promoting the full employment of college graduates. Jiangsu has determined that candidates for internship positions are those who have not been assigned to a unit within 3-6 months before graduation, those who have not been employed within 2 years after graduation, and unemployed young people aged 16-24. The internship generally last 3-12 months.
Jiangsu has so far established 8734 pre-job internship bases in the fields of modern service industries, high-end manufacturing industries, and new forms of employment.
At the same time, the authorities will also make every effort to develop universal positions that can give full play to the professional expertise of college graduates and enhance the vocational skills of unemployed youth.
“Nantong has established a chain policy system for internships by distributing skill improvement subsidies, and living allowances. We require the internship bases to provide living allowances to interns at a rate not lower than the minimum wage standard. Financial funds will be provided to enterprises at a rate of 75% of the minimum wage standard”, Shi Xiaoqiu, Deputy Director of Nantong Talent Service Center, said.
The employment and entrepreneurship policy promotion week for college graduates in Jiangsu was launched on the same day.
The Nantong leg of the Jiangsu University Graduates Tour Recruitment provided Jiangsu-based university graduates with more than 3500 pre-job internships and full-time positions in communication and manufacturing industries.
Jiangsu has developed 110 thousand high-quality pre-job internship positions and organized 33.8 thousand people to start pre-job internships. By the end of August and December, Jiangsu is expected to create 70 thousand to 100 thousand pre-job internships.
